About the role

Insurance Actuarial Consulting & Reinsurance Analytics: 2027 Summer Internship Programme Start Date: 21st June 2027 Application closing date: 7th December 2026 Please note, we may close earlier if we receive the quantity, quality & variety of applications required. Better Decisions Begin with You At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As an organisation, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed. Launch Your Career in Actuarial Consulting Aon is looking for penultimate-year students to join our Insurance Actuarial Consulting & Reinsurance Analytics Summer Internship Programme. You do not need to be an actuarial expert on day one. During the internship, you will apply quantitative techniques, data, models, commercial insight and professional judgement to help insurance and reinsurance clients understand, price, transfer and manage financial risk. Through our Launch Programme and on-the-job learning, you will build ownership, curiosity, collaboration, client focus and sound judgement from the start. What is Insurance Actuarial Consulting & Reinsurance Analytics? Aon’s actuarial teams help insurers, reinsurers and other risk-bearing organisations make better decisions by applying data, analytics, modelling and business insight to complex risk challenges. Across Insurance Actuarial Consulting and Reinsurance Analytics, you may support clients with areas such as pricing, reserving, capital modelling, risk transfer, catastrophe management, rating agency advisory, strategy and technology-enabled analytics. How work is changing AI and digital tools are automating routine data preparation, reconciliation and baseline calculation; supporting output checking, report drafting and documentation; and increasing the importance of assumption-setting, scenario analysis and clear methodology communication. You will learn how actuaries validate and challenge AI-enabled outputs and coordinate delivery across people, tools and workflows. Strategy & Technology Group (STG) – Insurance Actuarial Consulting In STG, you will be part of a multi-disciplined actuarial consulting team that supports clients across the life and non-life insurance value chain. Aon’s global client base, proprietary data, technology capabilities and insurance industry expertise help the team provide insight into sources of competitive advantage, risk, growth and resilience. You will work with experienced consultants on client projects, develop technical and consulting skills, and contribute to analysis that supports strategic, commercial and risk-based decisions for insurers. Reinsurance Analytics In Reinsurance Analytics, you will support clients and brokers with actuarial, catastrophe management, rating agency advisory and risk and capital strategy expertise. You may work on technical modelling and analysis while also helping translate findings into clear recommendations for brokers, clients and market partners. What You Will Do As an Actuarial Intern, you will develop hands-on actuarial and analytical experience and see how data, models, clients and strategy come together to deliver value. Depending on business need and role alignment, you will join either STG within Insurance Actuarial Consulting or the Reinsurance Analytics team. Responsibilities may include: Building and running models for pricing, reserving, capital and profitability, including reviewing AI-pre-populated baselines where relevant. Conducting data and risk analysis to identify patterns, test scenarios and validate outputs against actuarial principles. Supporting insurance and reinsurance pricing, reserving, capital, catastrophe, exposure and risk-transfer analysis. Drafting clear reports, summaries and presentations that communicate technical findings effectively. Supporting client meetings and helping translate methodology and technical analysis into a clear narrative. Contributing to actuarial research, process improvement and responsible, technology-enabled ways of working. Your Development As an Aon Intern, you will be enrolled onto our Launch Programme when you join. Launch is a structured Early Careers development programme that combines meaningful work, business learning, professional development and relationship-building across Aon. During your internship, you will build a strong foundation for a future actuarial and advisory career through: On-the-job learning with actuarial consultants, client teams, analysts, brokers and solution line specialists, with hands-on exposure to data, modelling, assumptions and client-ready analysis. Business and professional development in actuarial consulting, client service, communication, collaboration, problem solving, inclusive working, commercial awareness and dependable delivery. Exposure to data, analytics, modelling, AI-enabled tools and workflows that support analysis, scenario testing, output review, documentation and client-ready recommendations. Regular feedback and support from your line manager and colleagues throughout the internship. Your career beyond your Summer Internship Our summer internship programme is designed as a potential first step towards a long-term career with us. Strong performance during your internship may lead to an offer for a place on our graduate programme in the same business area the following year. We encourage you to apply for an internship that aligns with your long-term interests and career ambitions. If you later join the graduate programme, you will receive structured development and professional qualification support towards Fellowship of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA), including paid study leave and study materials. Next Steps We have opportunities available in the Strategy & Technology Group (STG) team and Reinsurance Analytics teams. Please review the information on each team and select your first-choice preferred team should you be successful. Please note that, where possible, we will try to consider you for your first-choice preference, however we cannot guarantee your first choice due to availability of roles. If your first choice is unavailable at the time of your Assessment Centre, we will also consider you for the other teams. If you are interested in this Internship programme and would like to apply, here are some things to help you: Entry Requirements: As both routes are mathematically based career paths, you will need to be on track to achieve a 2:1 degree or equivalent in maths, actuarial science, economics, engineering, physics or another highly numerical discipline. You will also need to have achieved an A grade or above in Maths A-level, an A grade in Maths Scottish Higher, or an international equivalent. What are we looking for? Transferable skills or experience, strong motivation to pursue an actuarial career and an interest in completing professional qualifications. A strong quantitative background, numerical confidence and the ability to work with data, models and risk-based information; insurance experience is not required. Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving and analytical abilities, with attention to detail and the confidence to challenge assumptions. Business insight, commercial awareness and an interest in helping clients make clear, confident and evidence-based decisions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly and accessibly. A collaborative and inclusive approach, alongside initiative, adaptability, dependability and confidence learning new technology-enabled ways of working. Locations: Both roles will be based in our London office. We recognise the value for our Early Career colleagues of being in the office environment from the beginning of their programme. As a new intern, you will spend your 9 weeks in the Aon office or with clients. If you join us as a graduate after your internship, you will spend the first 6 months based in the office to support your learning, development, and progression. This will enable you access to support from managers, collaborate with colleagues as well as grow your network across Aon. After completing this initial training period, you will then have the opportunity to work more flexibly, spending at least 3 to 4 days face to face in the Aon office or with clients. Aon UK Internship Recruitment: What to Expect We know applying for your first role can be exciting, and sometimes a little daunting. At Aon, we’re committed to making our recruitment process as transparent and supportive as possible. Here’s how our selection journey works, and what you can expect at each stage: Application Review We process applications on a rolling basis, moving candidates forward as they complete each stage. Every application is carefully reviewed by our team (not by AI). Due to the high volume of interest, this stage can take up to two weeks. Please note: We do not review CVs or cover letters at this point. Online Assessment We understand you want to put your best foot forward, so you’ll have 5 calendar days to complete the online assessment. If you need more time, just let us know as extensions are available. Video Interview Preparation matters, so you’ll have up to 10 days (240 hours) from receiving your invitation to record and submit your video interview. Rest assured: Every video interview is reviewed by a real member of our recruitment team, not an AI system. You’ll typically hear back from us within 2-3 weeks after submitting your interview, though times may vary depending on the number of applications. Assessment Centres Our assessment centres are held in person at the Aon office closest to the location you applied for. Please note: Due to the large number of applications, not every candidate who completes a video interview will be invited to an assessment centre. Assessment centres usually run after Christmas, from mid-January. If selected, you’ll have 7-14 days’ notice to help you arrange any travel. We run a limited number of Assessment Centre so please make every effort to attend if invited. We reimburse reasonable travel costs (such as standard class train tickets). Flights and hotels are only covered if agreed in advance. At the assessment centre stage, your CV and cover letter will be shared with hiring managers. This helps them get a fuller picture of you as a candidate—but these documents are not used for initial screening. We’re here to support you every step of the way. If you have any questions or need accommodations, just contact our team at [email protected]. Good luck, and we look forward to seeing what you can bring to Aon! #AonInternshipUK #ActuarialConsultingInsuranceReinsuranceUK 2026-107790
